i said asymmetrical not unidirectional.
assymetrical means it has to rotate one way AND it has to go on a specific side (right, Left) so unless you are runing the same size in front and back there is no way to rotate the tires.

Sorry I am still confused....
first you said
except that the Goodyears appear to be unidirectional so you can't rotate them (except front to back but our cars have offset tires so that doesn't work) Which brings me to your next post..
Right?? Don't mean to make a big deal out of this. I just want the information to be correct.

I run the RE050 A's which are a bit different than the REO50's and i personally liked the Eagle F1 GS D3's i had on my 18's better. I think the potenzas are stickier but the F1's were much better in rain and were quieter, not to mention they arent asymmetrical so you can actually rotate them.

I believe what you are describing here is an unidirectional tire OR asymmetric AND unidirectional tire. LinkyOriginally Posted by Blackbird V35

When i was speaking of asymmetric tires i meant the Potenza's not the goodyears. The potenzas are unidirectional and asymmetrical, while the gs d3's are just unidirectional. I just assumed everyone knew that any UHP tire would be directional by default Originally Posted by binar

you can rotate unidirectional tires, you just have to get the tire shop to take the tire off, flip it and put it on the opposite side rim, which you cant do with an asymetrical tire
Ok rears are bald time to buy the tires now. I've decided on sticking with 255/40/19 rears but for fronts what do people think 245/35/19 or 225/40/19?? I'd like to get a lil extra tire to prevent curb rash. I always thought you could run a 225 tire on a 7.5in wheel so 245 should fit easy on a 8in tire?

I ordered the Toyo T1-R's today.
245/35 19 front
275/35 19 rear
$840 mounted & balanced. I think this is a great price for 19" performance tires. However, the only drawback is I have to wait 2-3 weeks for the fronts to arrive.
Wheels are 19" Volk GT-C's, 8.5 F / 9.5 R
