DPE GT7 staggered
Just got my new wheels after a excruciatingly long 4 month wait. Seems like the build I wanted was not your typical production run. I ordered DPE GT7 in titanium asphalt in 19x9 and 20x10. Tires are 255/35/19 and 285/30/20. The only brand I could get in that size was BFG KDW, not too thrilled about the pattern and cost but I had no choice. The finish is superb, front and back side is finished. welds are nice. The titanium asphalt looks a little lighter in person then in the pics on the web. You can see it has a brushed look to it. I thought it would be darker. The lips are polished. These things are heavy compared to the stock. Stock f/r weighs in at 48.75/49.25 lbs and these are 56.5/61.5 lbs.
Apparently they gear up for one size say 19s and only do those, then they move onto 20s and only do those. So basically I had to wait for two runs. Then I ran into the problem that 19x9 is not on the menu so they had to custom built that too, they took a 19x10 and cut it to make a 19x9. After that I'm told the finish I chose, titanium asphalt, takes the longest to do since it's anodized. God, the wait was painful.
Car is stock height right now, and I'll have to give a long hard thought to lowering it since I already scrape where I need to drive. Maybe a 1/2" drop in the front since that gap is so large, I think the rear doesn't look too bad, but the front needs to be lower. Don't know how strong these are but they are beautiful, the construction and quality of the finish is second to none. Only down side I see is that the valve is behind the spokes and it looks like it's gonna be hella hard checking the pressure.
On to some pics....

these wheels are built for BBK and it looks it, there is so much clearance in there....now I need to upgrade my brakes to fill in the voids.

Rims look nice, a drop would look really nice. Your offset looks pretty aggressive though, so you may have to roll fenders. Then you have to consider camber arms and toe bolts...whole other can of worms...

Great looking setup!
The welds look perfect and by the looks of your G, it was worth the wait.
I agree, 1/2" up front, and call it day. No need in worrying about scraping everywhere.

Thanks....
Was it worth the wait??? jurys still out on that one. 17 weeks is a hella long time to wait for rims. I was told 4 to 6 weeks build time and it was triple of that. If I knew it was going to be this long I might have gone another route. But I guess thats to be expected when you go with a custom builder. I had specific things I was looking for in a wheel, mesh style, forged, 19s front, 20s rear, no rivets (been there and cleaning was a chore) and DPE seemed to fill all those qualities. I am very pleased with the final product but the wait was redicoulous.
The brand name is only on the center caps no where on the rim it self is there any indication of the brand. On the inside of the barrel there was some stampings as far as diameter, width and DOT and on the center there was the bolt patern stamped on but thats it. Not even stampings of the offset.
What do you mean by the offsets look wrong? There is a huge amount of room between the calipers and the face, but these wheels were specified for BBK just in case I decided to go that route in the future. I have no idea what the offsets are, they won't tell you that. I just gave them my application and tire sizes and they did the rest. From what I understand DPE keeps offsets a secret. I do wish the rears were tucked in a bit more like the fronts. The fitment is good, no rubbing or problems thus yet.
