Quick question about wheel and tire size

I tried searching but could not come up with anything. Can you mount a 245/40-18 on a 18x8 wheel?

i think you can mount it, but here's the factory sizes for 18's:

225/45/18 front
245/45/18 rear

i would do this if i was going to swapout the tires:

225/45/18 front (add 15mm offset spacer)
255/45/18 rear (add 5mm offset spacer)

Most of them will fit with no issues, but look up the specs of the specific tires you want at www.tirerack.com

see http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...p#measrimwidth

to interpret the specs

MrBig it would help if you specified if you have SEDAN or COUPE!

245/40-18 should fit on 18x8. it fits perfectly on 18x8.5, and an extra half an inch should not make that much of a difference.

Your right! Sorry I usually post in the Sedan thread. The reason I want 18x8 is because I found a set of wheels that I really like, and they only come 8" for the 18" wheel. I want to stay 18" because I do autoX and I want less wheel mass spinning. Thanks for the help.
