I just got my Eibach sway bars and they look great. They are also extremely light. You can easily pick up the rear bar with 1 finger. Its only about 7 lbs. The front bar is only about 5 lbs heavier. The welded bushing stops look great too. The only problem is they didn't come with instructions or adjustment information. The front bar is 2 position adjustable. The rear bar is 3 position adjustable. UInfortunately, there was no documentation to say what the stiffness of each position is. I will have to call Eibach to find out tomorrow.

I already know basic physics so telling me which position is stiffer isn't a help. Telling me how much each position is stiffer is what I'm looking for. I contacted Eibach and they didn't have a rating for each position. But they did e-mail me the directions. So if anyone wants the directions on how to install the sway bars, just PM me. Eibachs advice is to start in the soffest position front and rear and move up 1 notch on each end depending on whether it is pushing or loose.

First, everyone have a different driving style and everyone has their own preference for balance. I like a car perfectly neutral where I can get the car to shift balance just by pushing or lifting the gas pedal in a turn. I have a friend who road races a Supra and he likes his car loose. I have a friend that is a driving school instructor and autocrossing national champ who likes his car to push. The odds of just bolting on a set of sway bars and the car is balance to the driver is almost impossible...that is unless you never hit the limits of the car. BTW, if you don't know what your car does when you exceed the limits, you never hit them in the first place.

When I was autocrossing my Miata in stock classes, I could only change the front bar. With the narrow 205 R-compound tires and the stock 22mm front bar, the car was very loose. I went to an aftermarket 1" front bar and it pushed too hard. I had a custom 24mm adjustable front bar bad at Sanar Performance and the car was perfectly neutral on the softer setting. The next year I switched to 225 R-compound tires and the car started puching badly again. Just changing tires on all 4 corners, I had to switch back to the stock bar to get back to neutral. Unlike you, I have experience tuning cars and with the number of autocross trophies I have I must be doing something right. Sorry G35Sedan, but your comment about the adjustability and my choice are completely unfounded. I choose parts for my setup based on what appears to be the right setup for me, not what other people think by looking at parts in a box. My advice for you is to look up the Evolution Driving School. They have a "Dial-in" course that will first educate you in how to tune a car properly and then to do so afterwards. Lack of adjustablity means if it pushes you have to live with the push. I don't believe in compromises like than.

I am already running a different setup than most out there. The very first thing I did to the car was swap the front 225's for 245's to equalize the grip front to rear. This already has a tremendous impact on the balance of the car. In fact, it took most of the push out. If I changed the rear to 275's, it would most likely push worse than stock due to the increased rear grip. Some of the sway bars are made just to reduce body roll and preserve contact patch, but keep the pushing balance. This is exactly how the Nismos are setup.

I installed the sway bars today. I have the front bar set on the softer setting and the rear is in the middle. As to my initial guess, I definitely don't need to stiffen up the front anymore. Because of my tire choice, your Cuscos would have already made the front too stiff for me to blalnce the car. The front no longer has any body roll. Turn-in is still good, but a little slower. Transitions are smooth though. I have the rear bar in the middle position and the car seems to push just a tad. It is pretty hard to tune on the streets because the limits of the car are so high, so I may have to make a trip down to MSR to really explore the limits. I will drive it like this for a couple more days and I may make the rear a little stiffer, but I definitely won't be changing the front.

E-mail Todd as Discount Tire Direct on the price. He is the one who posts the BC forged wheels. My set was <$353 with tax and shipping. Unfortunately since Discount Tire has store in Texas, he had to charge tax. I am not surprised they are on back order since compared to the Nismo and Cuscos, they are a bargain. I am still running my with the front bar on the soft setting and the rear in the medium setting. It is very close to neutral. Using throttle in a corner, I can basically get it to do whatever I want. Throttle steering around corners is really easy and smooth. Despite the good turn-in, the back in these cars rotates slowly so it is extremely controllable. I can't wait to get some track time.
