profile size?

what's better to go with on a set of 20" wheels? 35 or 30? looking to do 245's in the front and 275's or even 285's in the rear...don't want any VCD issues

I did a search but couldn't really find anything significant

My wheels are 35 for the 245s and 30 for the 275s. I've read a few posts where people have run into rubbing issues with 285s on the rear.

I don't understand how running 35's in the front and 30's in the rear don't cause any problems...it's two different tire heights

That was the suggested tire size from the distributor of the wheels. I just recieved them today, so I haven't had a chance to test drive them. What kind of problems would that cause?

I have 255/30/20 on 9 inch wide in front and 285/30/20 on 10.5 in rear. I'm on HTechs and don't rub.

The stock coupe 18" tires are different heights too... 225/45 and 245/45. The second number (sidewall height) is the percent of the section width. So the 225/45 is 25.9" diameter and the 245/45 is 26.6" in diameter. Just because the profile number is the same doesnt mean the sidewall height is the same.

On a 245/35/20 the diameter is 26.75" and the 275/30 is 26.5" so they're pretty close in diameter and that's why you go with a different profile depending on the section width of the tire.
