Downgrade from 19in to 18in or 17in

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a G35C 6MT before the end of this year. However my major concern is the 19in tires and rims. I drive a lot in the NYC that are covered with potholes, etc. My two questions are:
1-Is it possible to downgrade a size to 17 in or 18 in?
2-Can I use the same tire size for all 4 wheels, instead 2 front and 2 back?

Thanks!

17" rims/tires

You can do both but pay careful attention the the rim offset. I have an 2003 6mt and my winter setup is on 17" wheels. I went with Voxx MGs with 225/50-17 tires at all 4 corners. They're nothing fancy but I'm only using them to plow through snow and salt covered roads. The rims barely clear the Brembos but they work.

yes, it's possible to downgrade. here's my experience going from aftermarket 19s to OEM 18s:
