Anyone run 275/40/18 on the stock 18" Rims in the rears?

Question Anyone run 275/40/18 on the stock 18" Rims in the rears?

Was thinking of replacing my tires with these...

Thanks, any issues with rubbing or clearance? What size did you run in the front?

245x40x18 275x40x18 no issues with rubbing
current setup is 255x35x18 and 295x35x18

That makes more sense. So you ran 275/40/18 on the stock rims? Did the shop have any problem getting them on the wheel?

No they just took their time getting it on, they had 2 people do it to make it easier

Yes i have 275/40/18 rear Michelin PS2. I have no problems and they look good.

Question

But... The 275/40 tire's specs call for a wider rim (9 inch minimum). Aren't the G stock rims too narrow for a 275?

From my research of tire rack info I replaced my pilot sports with 245-40/18 on the front and 255-45/18 on the rear (BFG-KDW2's)...that's the largest I was willing to go with on the factory 18X8 coupe rims.

well from my 2 times of buying tires, I was able to fit a 275 on the stock 18 and the shop didn't have any issues with installing them.
