Snow tire mounting

I just purchased LM-22's for my G, do you guys recommend taking it to the dealer to mount? I am reluctant to bring it to other places they might not pay for the rims if its scratch..

I would not trust your dealer to not damage your wheels, I am speaking from personal experience. Just take the tires to a wheel/tire shop that deals with quality wheels/rims and you shouldn't have any problems. Ask them if they have the right machinery to handle your size of rims and also politely ask them to be very careful as the wheels scratch easily. Good luck.

Re: Snow tire mounting

I second what biscotti says. DO NOT TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. They will charge you an arm and leg. I had my tires completely broken down and rotated. They tore up the nutwells and left nicks and scratches everywhere. (Park Ave MrElussive, so stay away from them if you decide to go to a dealership) Take it to a place that uses the hunter 9700 machine. Make sure you stress how important it is that they do not scratch the rims and are very careful in removing the lugnuts. Look for a place that does appointment only. I found a place in NJ that has a hunter 9700 and charges $25 per pair. I am going to have my LM 22s mounted in a week or two.

Re: Snow tire mounting

So are u guys going for the 18inch bridgestone LM-22 snow tires? thats what im thinking to get....it just does not make sense to get some ugly rims for 800 dollars...and look ugly for 3 months...but im still worry about the snow performance for 18s...im in boston area...any suggestions?

Re: Snow tire mounting

I took my car at Ramsey Infiniti for the brake light switch recall and told them to check the caliper on the back if its ok, I also told them about how sensitive the rims and they know about it, the guuy told me that they use thin socket so they dont scratch it, anyway I'm reaching 13K miles and they did not say anything wrong about my brakes and did not even mention about the pads..how much do you guys think to have the tire mounted and balanced or what is the fair price? Thanks.

Re: Snow tire mounting

It is probably going to be $100-120 over at Ramsey.

$50 for all 4! They use a hunter 9700. I will be going there. I can't vouch for their work yet.
