Not in the manual but mine did exactly as usual_suspect described.
Moe, your rims will look like crap if you take out the sensors...the sensors why the valve stems are metal instead of cheap black plastic. Besides, with the low profile of the 19" OEMs, it's good to have TPS. They're about $80-$100 each to replace.

isn't this a problem with the TPMS?, the light should come on...
It's hit or miss. I mean, it USUALLY comes on after I drive my usual 50+ mile commute, but if it doesn't come on, it's nothing to worry about. All the light indicates is that you have low tire pressure. But the truth of it is, if you don't have the TPS installed, it's just a false indicator and should be ignored.
Either way, if it comes on, or stays off, just ignore it all together if you don't have the TPS installed.
