Of course I'm absolutely sure. These nicks were on the left side. Who drives next to curbs on that side except for dealers who park the cars wherever there's space?

+1

One the reasons why I kept my stock 19's. I haven't had to go back to the dealership yet, but when I do, off with the challenges.

i too put my factory 18's on before taking my car to the dealer for any
major service.

but if it's just oil change i do it myself. it's a lot easier to do an oil
change than swapping wheels imho.

If the dealer doesn't make it right, you can always fix it yourself. I know it seems bad, but that lil knick right there is nothing. You can fix that with simple sand paper. One of my volks got curbed half way around the rim, and i fixed it myself, and now the fixed rim has a shinier lip than the rest of my wheels.

you can sand down just where the nick is at, but be very careful not to sand on the face of the lip ( the vertical side of the lip) just sand the nick and maybe 1/2" to either side of it on the edge of the rim. If you start at 320grit to take down the rough spot, then slowly work your way up the grits....400, 600, 800, 1000, and finally 1500. by then it will be really smooth. If you hit it with a heavy duty polisher like Busch aluminum polish, you just rub it on with a rag, and bam, it's like magic....shines like chrome.

I had to do this recently.... half way around my rim and it came out awesome. pm me if you have any questions.

good luck with the dealer.

motherfugging word. same here.

btw, i don't think they'll replace the wheel at all. if they offer to get it repaired, ask for money instead. volks are anodized clear coated. you can't really fix them. iff you polish them out, you'll see the markings. trust me.

Yes that's bad and it sucks.

However, while the dealership may be at fault, 99% of the blame falls on you.

You were patient enough to do a complete walk around of the car when you dropped it off but were in too much of a rush to inspect it when you picked it up. You did a half-assed job and in turn wasted your time as well as the sales manager’s time.
I'm sorry dude but you should have taken an extra 5 minutes to complete the inspection job before you left the lot.

Chalk this up as a lesson learned the hard way.

damn I would be pissed!....a good reminder to others to always put back on OEM's when bringing to the dealership...

....or if you dont have OEM's, put some blue 3m tape on the lips and edges for some protection haha...rolling up with blue lips TimeAttack style haha...

seriously that sux since your GTS are new

It actually looks like tech drove into those swinging car supports on lift. They are low on the ground and hard to see. Height looks about right.

If you're going to spend the time to jack up your car to swap out tires, you may as well change the oil while it's up on jack stands
