Racing Hart c4 question

Question Racing Hart c4 question

jus got 19x8.5 c4s for my 05 sedan and i noticed theyre very heavy
i know they're multipiece, but does that mean theyre forged?
because i know forged rims are suppose to be very light
how will these compare to my oem 17s in terms of weight?

Did you get the regular C4's or did you get the C4R's?

They should be pretty light compared to a lot of other wheels. I had almost every pair of Racing Hart wheels for my Civic from the M700 to the C4 and C5. You picked an awsome wheel. They are really good. Don't bend. Forged wheels are single/one peice constructed. You have a multi piece wheel.

is multipiece considered not as good as forged single piece? how would these compare to my oem 17s

Multi piece wheels are good. They will bend a little easier than the single piece or forged wheel. Forged wheels won't bend as easy because they are made from one piece construction so it means it has less material to seperate from. As far as the driveability are you lowered or stock?

Well when you first put them on it will feel okay. But my from my personal experience I would say buy a set of aftermarket springs, bring the car down a little bit and get a wheel alignment. The ride will feel so much better. Usually cars that just put on aftermarket wheels ride okay for a few weeks but then you start feeling the conditions of the road. When I first put my 20s on my car I wasn't lowered and my car rode fine for a couple of weeks and then I was like WTF. After being lowered talk about a relief. More comfortable than ever.

Great choice

I love my C4's, but compared to my 17" OEM wheels, they're heavier. But then again, my C4's are 19x9 (F) and 19x10 (R). Do you have pics? I don't think I've seen a sedan with C4's.

What makes you think multipiece wheels will bend easier than a monoblock wheel or a forged wheel. Multipiece wheels can be either forged or cast, but most are forged, at least the barrels are so they will be stronger than most single piece wheels, considering most single piece wheels are cast. So you basically have your statements all mixed up. Forged wheels are stronger than cast wheels. Doesn't matter if they are single piece or multipiece as long as the processes are the same, for the same design of wheel.

Most Racing Hart wheels are not forged wheels,such as the C4.That is why they are heavy.They are 2pc wheels so that you can get different offsets.

Thanks for the imput ... ill post pics as soon as i mount em
but now i ran into another dilema with the tires so i was wondering if you guys could help me
i was going to go for 235-245/35/19 tires
but then i realized that the overall diameter of the wheel will change
effecting the reading on my speedometer and the amount of miles my car actualy drives
Does anyone know what can be done to minimize these effects?
im on a very tight budged after these rims and i cant afford alot of the higher end tires.
Also from what i can tell i wont be able to put my stock tps into the c4s
so will the warning light constantly stay on?
Once again i appreciate all your help these rims are stressing me out way more than i expected

Not sure about the tps, but I'd try it.
Regarding your speedo reading, keep in mind that the speedo does not care about the wheel diameter at all. The reading comes from the diameter of the tire--the outermost diameter that is touching the road. So just make sure that you have the same tire diameter as the stock tire and your speedo will read the same.
