Where to buy snow tires??

Hey,

I am looking for Dunlop Winter Sport M3 snow tires in sizes of our stock tires (going to have the Pilot Sports swapped out). TireRack has the fronts on Back Order and the rears aren't even being sold anymore!! Does anybody know any web sites or local NJ shops that are selling the Winter Sport M3's for a reasonable price??? I guess I waited too long before I ordered them. =(

I just went through this, its a royal pain. Seems like the winter 18 tires are very expensive, if you can even find them. I was going to get the M3's too, but like you I couldnt match front and back. So finally yesterday I ordered a set of blizzaks 17s from tirerack and a set or 17 inch rims from discount tire direct. Everything came out to about $1050 with shipping (rims had free shiping). Was going to get it all from tire rack but they dont have almost any 17 inch rims left, except for some 250 dollar ones. When everything gets here I will have it mounted/ballanced at rayco on rt49. If you got with a set of 17inch rims make sure they clear your brembos.

Why did yo go with those as opposed to the Lm-22s?

LM-22's aren't so good for dry-road handling, they are expensive, and they have the shortest tread life for snow tires.
They are beasts when it comes to snow/ice traction, but just not practical for me. I am always driving my car hard, I need stiff sidewall and good traction (as you guys know, this car will spin its tires while moving if you punch it in 1st or 2nd gear). I love the stock 18" rims so I just want to swap the tires in and out twice a year, I don't mind that.
But I guess I waited too long and it seems I am out of luck. =(

Whoa, I take it back, the LM-22's got good reviews from TireRack. I guess I was just used to the poor dry-road ratings of the Blizzak WS-50's.

Hey, G35Gnome,

I'm just curious..... What 17" wheels did you get? I got the 17" ASA KA3's. With Pirelli 210 SnowSport tires, it cost me about $1350 total. It sounds like you got a bargain.

You're right about the 18" wheels and tires being expensive. I figure that I saved about $500 by going with 17's for winter. They should also give me a bit better traction and be more resistance to damage from potholes.

I got these http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...odeIndex=70304 They ship them for free, 3rd day I believe. For the tires I got 225/50/17 and 225/55/17 blizzak WS-50's.

What kind of price did you get that set up for? The wheels are great looking. Do you have the Brebmo's? Just want to see if they will fit my 6mt coupe.
