Anyone w/ 19" Front, 20" Rear?
Anyone w/ 19" Front, 20" Rear?
I'm thinking of running a staggered setup to keep my wheel diameters as close as possible to stock plus I think it would look pretty nice. Here are the numbers:
Stock:
<font color=red>Front: 225/45-18 (26.0" (wheel Diameter))</font color=red>
<font color=blue>Rear: 245/45-18 (26.7")</font color=blue>
Proposed aftermarket:
<font color=red>Front: 19x8.5, 245/35-19 (25.8"); Sidewalls = 86mm</font color=red>
<font color=blue>Rear: 20x10, 285/30-20 (26.7"); Sidewalls = 85mm</font color=blue>
Using this setup I would maintain almost the exact wheel diameter and I would have the same amounts of sidewall showing on both tires.
Any comments or has anyone already done it? I've hunted around but haven't seen anyone setup like this yet.
Thanks...

Re: Anyone w/ 19" Front, 20" Rear?
I don't think I have seen a G with this setup, but there are a couple Z's with it. Here is a pic of a Z with the exact setup you mentioned on Axis Se7en Mods:

I have seen this car in person and it looks beautiful. I don't see why this would be a problem at all.
DG/G 6MT coupe, Borla exhaust, Stillen intake, Z aluminum pedals, clear corners

Re: Anyone w/ 19" Front, 20" Rear?
That 350z looks pretty nice. I'm glad to see that it doesn't look out of place at all. The Axis rims on this Z are one of the rims I'm considering (along with the iForged, Zigen's and Maidos)
I searched for Raj's posts but I couldn't find any info or pictures of his car (looks like he's got a 6mt Sedan). I pm'ed him for some specifics... Thx

Re: Anyone w/ 19" Front, 20" Rear?
The only problem with the Axis Se7en Mods is that the front 19x8 wheels can only be had in 35mm or 45 mm offset - 35mm being the best choice - but that pushes the wheel 5mm IN more than the stock wheel - not out.

rajc007 has 20s in the back and 19s in the front with axis se7ens, here's his car

Re: Anyone w/ 19" Front, 20" Rear?
I actually like the aggressive look of the staggered setup and the numbers work out for keeping the tire diameters the same as stock AND maintaining a consistent sidewall between front and back.
The sidewall is the main reason for considering this.
The current sidewall is about 4". Using 20's up front, that sidewall drops to 3". The 19's up front would almost split that difference and allow a 3.4" sidewall height - same as the back. I was curious to know if that slight difference would affect the overall ride quality.
The difference is very subtle in appearance and doesn't look like one of the hotrods from the seventies. You'd maintain the same profile for the car.
The obvious question is why not just get 19's all around if I was worried about ride quality. My answer would be that I just might. I'm just trying to consider all the different options and this is one of them. I'm looking for a balance between the looks of the 20's and the improved ride quality of the 19's (compared to 20's that is). The difference may just be the front tire.

Re: Anyone w/ 19" Front, 20" Rear?
I have the Axis Sevens 20" all around, with the Bridgestone SO3's, f-245, r-275.....
I am happy with the way they look, the front wheels need hubcentric spacers to fit over the brembos.....

Damen, yours and Edretti's car are the two that really got me interested in the 20" iForged. They should be kicking you guys back some commission!
