RIm replaced under warrenty :-D

So yeah, I went up to Grubbs Infiniti in DFW today because I needed some pop rivets (im a noob don't ask ), needed to get battery checked, and wanted to see if they could do anything about my stained rim.

Well low and behold they replaced it under warranty for freeeee

I had black stains on it from someone using an acidic rim wash on it. Only the front driver one was really bad. I don't think the others have any spots on them at all but im planning on getting down and cleaning them with some soap and water either today or tomorrow and if it is real noticeable on any of them ill try to get it replaced as well.

They also gave me 5 or 6 pop rivets for free too. Im not sure if this is because they normally do that or because come to find out, after I got the rim replaced and asked for some pop rivets, the guy that gave me the car back was a guy I graduated with in high school.

Just thought I would share my success story and prove to all the haters out there that posted "Why the fvck would the warranty cover your rims???" back when I was looking for help on what was wrong with the rim.

So ummmm yeah, in your face haters lol. Oh and if you have the same problem i would definitely try to get them replaced at the infiniti dealer.

So what story did you give them about the rim?

Woke up one day and it was black?

Curious as to what you said.

I was telling him about the battery and then I was like "and check out this rim! Its all stained. I dont know what the heck happend with it but those black blotches wont come off. I dont like that at all.".

He looked at it and said "Hmmmm... Ill have to show that to our service manager. Most likely its because there was brake dust on it and then when it got washed, some of the chemicals ate through the clear coat and stained it.".

When he was taking my information I asked him what he thinks he can do for me about the rim and he told me that he could see if he could get it replaced under warranty and if not then i would have to pay for it to be refinished which is $180 a rim. Later he came back and told me that the service manager said that he would replace it under warranty and on the receipt of service it said that they replaced it under warrenty because it was discolored.

I drove outta there sayin HELL YEAH

Now i just gotta figure out why im having electrical problems 0_O That may turn out to be another story about my visit to the dealership. Lets hope its another success story

Wait a second, you are PROUD that you lied to them about how it happened and that they are out $180?

That is akin to stealing. The only person who should have to pay for that is either you or the individual who used the incorrect type of wheel cleaner.

I would die laughing if someone working for Grubb's was on this site and read this thread.

Thumbs down!
