Is the wheel warranty worth it?

Hey I was just wondeing if I went with the wheel warranty by the dealership, would this be a smart decision. They say I can do it anytime and well I was thinking of going back in and getting it, but I don't know if I will be staying with the stock wheels... Any suggestions?

Can't imagine it's worth it.

How much is it? And what does it cover?

Definitely, we have expensive wheels, and its easy to run over a bolt.

If I purchase the 19" wheels will this carry over to them as well... Like they will not look to see that I do not have the wheel package and say no we will not fix them?

This is for the wheels not the tires right?

Well, I dunno. If your wheel becomes bent or has decent curb rash, it will cost a good shop around $130 to fix a single wheel. So you'd have to damage three wheels to go above the $400.

For me, it's not worth it.

JTrain, I don't think we are talking about tire road hazard coverage here, running over bolts wouldn't affect the wheel.

my dealer quoted around $950, thought it was way too much $$$, now, considering cost to replace just 1 wheel/tire, reconsidering it...

I'd get it mainly because I would in an industrial area with nails and crap.

I personally don't feel its worth it....they offer it to make profit b/c only a small percentage of individuals will need it.....if it gives you piece of mind to sleep better at night then go for it...I wouldn't though.

Definitely worth it imo, its helped me three times so far. Twice with aftermarket tires. First time I hit a pot hole that punctured the sidewell of the stock tire, as well as curbing the rim, covered the new tire + fixing of the rash. The next two times, I installed the Volk SF challenges with Toyo T1R's, and on two different occasions I had them get punctured once with a nail, and the other with a razorblade. They covered the aftermarket tires with no problem. The warranty has paid for itself already at least two-fold.. I nego'ed it down to 320$ when I purchased it ;D

I dunno. $400 is a bit much for me just to cover wheels. Will they let you spend the $2k to replace wheels that are just slightly damaged like curb rash or does it have to be cracked, unusable? If they'll cover anything then maybe it'll be worth it if you're **** about the little things. But if not, then I'd say no since major wheel damage can be covered under your insurance.
