5 1/2 in lift?

I went to walmart this weekend to check out what jacks they have. I have seen a couple that lift anywhere between 5 1/2 and 5 3/8 minimum height. I measured my G (coupe, not lowered) and the height to the jacking points on the sides are 6 inches. Does any know if these 5 1/2 jacks will work? I wouldn't buy one from Walmart. Instead I would just buy something similar from Sears. I dont want to skimp when it comes to lifting my G.

the sears jack isn't made in the USA. I would say it's the same quality as wal mart, harbor frieght, etc.

Sears gas a 4.5" jack in a sleak carry case right now for like $30 on sale.... it is rated at like 2.25 tons i used it and it works great!

Buy some jack stands though too!

Re: 5 1/2 in lift?

Whats the best jack ramps to use, and where can we get em froM?? The G is too low for the ones i use, some cheap ones from pep boys, and i can only use one. I have to turn my wheel all way to the left and raise the car, not sure how rear shock is holding up, it looks like its squeezing the hell out of it.

Dilemma

Hey guys just a couple of questions - Is the craftsman jack good enough to lift the G? Also is there some attachment that is a requirement when you're putting the G on jack stands? Sears has a sale on a 2 ton jack with 2 stands and a couple of other items for $99. Is this worth it or should I not even bother?

Re: Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

To answer the question I originally posted about which jack to buy, I just bought a Torin jack from Pep Boys

Apparently the jack is rated for 2.5 tons and has a 4" minimum lift. It set me back about $100 bucks.

Now all I need are some jack stands and I can change rims whenever the weather warrants.
