Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

I read the DYI section on jacking the G. I am sure that using some wood to raise the car will work. However, I would like to make it as simple as possible. Are there any particular model (like Craftsman) that are low enough to jack the G?

The expensive kind work. =)

Do an internet search for longbody floor jacks. You need to reach in about 33" with a max height clearance of 6".

OK, found a link:

ASE floorjacks

Not cheap, about $400 for what you seem to want. I've been using them on low-profile cars for years though. Very nice equipment.

I think the DK13HLQ is what you're looking for. I've never used it on the G, but my guess is that it would work fine.

Harbor frieght has a nice aluminum jack for around $150. I would buy it, but I already have a craftsman jack.

Re: Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

I have the sedan, and the my floor jack is low enough to slide under the bumper, my question what is the lift point where you want to raise the whole front end to put on stands to change the oil, I did not pay much for the jack so I have a feeling its not long enough...serves me right for trying to save
money ...

I'm not sure, the one I saw at harbor freight was on sale for $158. The jack looked a little longer in the store compared with the picture. Just make sure the pad is lower then a normal size floor jack.

Re: Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

its only good for 3000lb, our car is more than that. I wouldn't want the jack to snap.

Re: Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

You're not going to be lifting the whole car completely off the ground. You're just going to jack up half.

Re: Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

What he ^ said. Our stock jacks aren't even rated that much plus you need to use jack stands when you get the car off the ground.

Re: Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

Using a 3000lb lift...is that safe? I plan on just lifting one corner of my car one at a time. If so, I may just go to harbor frieght. Looks like a good low jack.

Re: Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

I get the Harbor Freight mailer, and e-mails from them when they have sales. $99.99 is the lowest price I have ever seen the jack.

I have the same jack as the Harbor Freight. But I bought mine from Kragen. At the time, they were cheaper.

And don't forget to get some car stands too. You'll find that having the car on stands is not only safer, but it frees up the jack so you can take the load off of the suspension when changing springs or putting coilovers on.

My coupe is dropped with HKS coilovers, and I have to drive up on some 2"x6"s to get under the front. The rear is no problem, just put it under the diff.

Re: Which floor jacks work on the Coupe?

its a pain but i use the factory jack and lift just enough to be able to get my craftsman jack under there, my car is lowered about 1.25 inches, so its pretty damn low. i would like one of those low profile jacks also. i did buy some ramps but i can only use them on the rear, if i use them on the front my nose pushes them away from the tires.
