Eibach spring installation

I just purchased the eiback springs for my coupe and was looking for prices on getting them installed.. I ask the dealer and they said $400 for installation and alignment. Im sure i could get it cheaper somewhere else but then i run the risk of having a crappy job done. I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has these springs... Thanks

Look for a performance shop in your area. I had eibach, stillen exhaust, stillen air box and splash guards put on for about $500.

Out of curiousity, when you guys purchase springs, arent you suppose to get shocks also? I thought that is always the rule... because stock shocks arent made for shorter springs?

Re: Eibach spring installation

Do a search on this forum. I installed my Eibach Pro-Kit springs about 2000 miles ago. I have about 6200 total miles on my Coupe.

Ride is normal. A little stiffer than stock, which is expected, but not too harsh. This is obviously subjective, so asking these questions won't help you much.

From what I've read, your stock shocks will wear out sooner with aftermarket springs, but how sooner will vary from driver to driver.

But for the $190 I spent for the springs from a forum member sure beats $900-$2000 for aftermarket coilovers.

I live in the Bay Area. Installed the springs myself and got my car aligned at Auto Innovations in Milpitas. They charge from $80-$100 for an alignment.

If you don't want a crappy job on your install, have it done by your dealership. If something happens, you can bitch and complain to them. There will always be give and take in terms of cost and quality of the install plus your own peace of mind. With springs, i don't see too much difference between a good and excellent installation.

Some people sleep better if they pay more.
More money = better quality, for some people.

oh, if you have questions regarding the alignment pre and post install, do a search on the forum.

Re: Eibach spring installation

My install was $250 at Lexus (no infiniti dealer here) and was also quoted $200 elsewhere. No alignment...doing that later when camber kit comes in. Ride is almost stock...very good in my opinion. Eibach says the springs are designed to work with the stock shocks...for watever that's worth. I think the shocks could be a little stfiffer but not much.
