I was wondering is it ok to use different brand tires with staggered set up? For instance Nitto up front and Continental out back.

 

My car went nuts w/ 2 diff types (front and back).

The VDC would slam on the brakes while cornering.

24 hours later I had all tires the same....

 

i have stock fronts and falken rears. Its perfectly fine until my fronts need replacing. Sometime in the next couple months before i hit the dragon tail in NC!!!!!!

 

Try To Stick To The Same Brand If Possible. If Not Try To Get A Simmilar Tread Pattern.........

 

car was undriveable with stock pilot in front and new dunlop direzza in the back.


Switched to Toyo t1r for rear and it was better, only took a few weeks before I decided to switch with 4 toyo's....

 

Any reason that you want to have two different brand of tires on your car? Not a good idea but for short period of time, I guess it's o.k, as long you fine with it!!

I've seen plenty of guys that run 2 diff types/ As long as you
got the sizes down, your okay

 

1.as long as you have the corrected size.
2.and the tread wear will have to be in the close range of each other
that is you don't want a tread wear of 220 in the front and 320 in the back
that mean the front will be stickier than the back and wear out much faster

 

I've read about people having problems with using different brands or different "season" tires on the front or read but I haven't experienced them myself. I have stock RE050a on the front (with half wear) and new Falken 452 on the rear and have no problems. RIght now I have oem base 350z wheels with stock RE040 (summer) on the front and Michelin Alpins (winter) on the back with half treadware on both sets with no problems. So maybe I don't drive as aggressively as others here but I'm definitely a "spirited" driver as I went through my rear RE050as in 16K. So from my experience you should be fine as long as you're not gonna track your car.

 

I'm running falken 452's up front with falken azenis in the rear. Pretty sticky all aorund, no issues what so ever

 

I want sticky tires. My Goodyears are not so sticky when balding =\

 

Ya, I am wondering this same thing. I need to rears and I think I am going to get falkens online. I have good year stocks all around right now

 

I am running Falken's in the front and Bridgestone's in the rear. It rides great and I haven't had any problems.

 

Like someone said above, if they're the correct sizes, then you'll be fine. I've run several setups w/different models front/rear.
