winter tires 245/45/18 front and back?
infiniti is telling me that since i cannot find a combo of 225/45/18 245/45/18 or 235/45/18/ 255/45/18 that i can put 245/45/18's on front and back. does anyone know if this is true or will it screw up the odometer, transmission, or VDC???

Answer 1: I think you'd be fine. Many people with 20"s put 245/35R20 tires on the front which are about as tall as the 245/45R18 tires.
Answer 2: Why can't you find 235/45 - 255/45 winters? They are available: HINT: www.tirerack.com..
And actually, they have the Dunlop M3s for $89 in 235/45R18 - you could use that on all 4 corners. Good deal.

Well, it will mess up the VDC, traction control and ABS. With VDC on, the computer is expecting the front wheels to be spinning faster than the rears since the diameter is smaller. Putting the same size on all 4 corners makes it think the front wheels are slipping. You will be fine VDC off though.

Actually, it will think the rear is slipping. The larger front tire will spin slower at the same speed. The system expects the front tires to be spinning a little faster than the rears normally.
The system probably has enough tolerance built in so that it won't constantly think you're slipping when you're driving straight and normal -- however, it will probably kick in a little earlier than otherwise.
