Yeah a +40 should fit with a roll/cut. I have 20x10 +40 and they clear with rolled fenders but they are very close.

Very good idea. The 9.5" is still the best overall size for the rear given the offsets most places make.

It is when you put a narrow tire on a wide wheel. Negative camber is hard on your tires. Go with the 9.5".
