Blew out a tire and bent rim
Hi guys and gals,
I have a question concerning my car. I have a 05 G35x and this morning I blew out a tire. The question is, I have the my spare is the stock 17 215/55/17.
Will it hurt the car?
Thank you for your time and answer.

You'll be fine, remember most cars don't have full size spares and people use them all the time.
What happened to your tire though? Did you run over something or did you just run the tire down to the threads?

it should be ok for short distances...but I wouldn't recommend driving around for a long time or at high speeds with it. The dynamics of the car changes considerably when you mix and match. Just play it safe and put your stockers back on until the wheel is fixed, if its gonna be a while.
tires
Lots of people will drive it as if nothing happened. But if it was your rear tire and if you have a rear wheel drive. One tire will spin faster than other and that mean it will put your lsd to over load and may burn up all clutch disk in the lsd.Limited slip differential.

Well living in Chicago will do it. I hit a HUGE POT HOLE on the way to work today on the freeway, freak'n crap mother freak'n fudger. Sometimes I just hate construntion workers. When there is nothing to repair they tear perfectly good streets up and repair it causing TRAFFIC. Then when streets need to be repaired they wait till it's really torn up, then they repair it. Sorry for the rant freak'n crap man. Just put the rozzas on since it's sring time already and get'n warm to freak'n crap.
well from my experiences with other awd cars, tire size differences does have a impact on the awd system. AS 05BLACK6MT said, the different tire sizes wreaks havoc on your awd system for it appears 1 tire is going at a different rate than the others. this causes your car to think that 1 tire is "slipping" and will be constantly will try to compensate. also, you can't just replace 1 tire on an awd system, but have to replace a 4 to make sure they match in tread depth, which affects your overal diameter of the tire.

I will be puting the stock rims and tires back on the car, this is just temp until I get home. Just wanted to know if it's ok for now to drive home from work untill I can change all 4 to stock again. Do you think I can drive home with the spare and rozzas on it and not do any HARM to my car?
BTW the spare is on the passenger front side of the car and it is an X AWD G.
I just don't want to break the tranny or anything else on the way home.
Thanks everyone for your input.

You can take out the fuse for the front transfer case, making the car RWD. The AWD System might be thinking "slip" and the light might come on but it wont be able to engage the front clutch/transfer and it wont be able to mess up that front diff.

Where is the Fuse for the front transfer case located at?
