Question about getting wheels widened??

I have a set of SSR Hasemi Old School Mesh, +45 offset, 2" step lip, here are some pics..
Before, when I picked them up...

NOW!!!

Okay, well here goes my question.... The wheels are 18x8.5 all around, I love these wheels, but now the project I am working on deserves a wider wheel on the rear (for looks)... Does anyone know where to take/send wheels out to get a wider rim... I want to keep the same face/mesh, but want to do a staggered setting on these... I am in need of getting 2 of these made into 9.5 or 10.5 wide but also having a bigger lip.

Sorry for the rambling, any help????

Thank you.

Milt

ok, i have my stock 18" widened to 10.5" ( 295 tire on it ) - front face and looks still the same - 2.5" to the back with the help of H&R 25mm spacers. I think it is not possible to wide the front lips. The best way to do it is to search for another set of wheels with alomost the same back configuration of your wheels to be cut and inserted into yours, much stronger than adding an aluminum strip between your wheels cuted into half.

I doubt you are going to be able to find somewhere to replace the barrel on those wheels for one with a wider lip. Usually places that widen wheels just cut a section off the back of the wheel and weld in a new piece. This can't be done on the front of the rim though so you are outta luck on that one. Get a new set of wheels with a similar face design, the SSR MS1's are one of the ones I can think of off the top of my head with a mesh face and stepped lip

hi.

i was in the same position as you were. i purchased my volks, with a very conservative offset, about 3 years ago and needless to say, now i want a deeper rear lip and more aggressive stance. since the GT series volks are 2 piece (single barrel and disc), i had to think of a way to retain the center disc with the exact same style presented by volk... perhaps a 2 piece barrel with the original barrel machined as the rear barrel and purchase a new lip barrel, OR purchase 2 barrels in a more aggressive offset and width.

anyway, i contacted many independent wheel manufacturers and they all denied my request because these businesses only deal with with business clients (in bulk i assume). so i looked into chopper wheel barrels (yeah, i know) and they seem to be better in terms of service... but they're all soft lip barrels and QUITE EXPENSIVE!

so heed redlude97's advice... it's better off to purchase wheels specific to your demands instead of modifying a structural piece.

good luck dude!

of that wheel
