Tires for OEM 19s : The end-all thread
#512
Hello everyone.
I currently have to replace my rear tires.
I am definately planning to go 245/35/19 front, 255/40/19 rear combos.
However, my 225/40/19 fronts still have a lot life left while my rear bridgestones are at 1/35.
I was wondering if I can / anyone had 225/40/19 front, and 255/40/19 rear running without traction control going crazy?
Thanks a bunch!

For future reference, I did end up putting on a new pair of 255/40/19 rears with my 225/40/19 front.
I didn't run into any traction control issues.
My fronts is got 8/32, while rears are 10/32 new.
The rears look a bit big when compared to the fronts.
However, the feeling is a bit new to me where it feels like there's tons of grip on the back and not enough for the front. It's almost as if it'll understeer more now.

Ok so Im running 225/35 F and 245/35 R lowered on 350z's pro-kit and 25mm spacer all around. No rubbing, no VDC, no traction issues. I wanna go with a slightly higher/taller and wider tire but I want the F and the R tire height to look even. I hate when the rear tire looks a lot bigger/taller than the front. My dropped is pretty much even.

Have had my 06 G35 6MT since 74 miles. The first set of "stock tires" lasted 30k.
I went with 245/40R19 for the front and 255/40R19 for the rear after the advice here (gah, what happened to my account?!?). These were the Falkens.
Never had a VDC problem and the tires have lasted to 65000. So basically 35000.
The rears are down to the tread bars while the inner fronts are showing thread.
Ride quality is roughly the same as stock at ~37PSI (I try to run between 35F and 40R). Rubbing has not been a problem, neither has traction even with severely worn front tires. Well, in the snow w/ chains they suck.
245/40 & 255/40 are doable on our 8/8.5" rims and don't cause (much of) a speedo issue and never a VDC issue.
However, it's time for new tires.

Update: figured I would post my results in this thread for future searchers.
I've just about worn out the toyo s drive 245/35/19 ft 255/40/19 rr tires I put on.
Other than the typical cupping ( I flipped them once to make them last longer) they did fine with no issues and handled better than stock.
As a side note,I put on the Megan upper control arms to try and get better camber and could only get it down to 9/16s so it still cupped the tires.
I'm debating 275's because I'm old school and like wide tires,if I do,I'll post results.
Hope this helps.

I have tried searching, but can't seem to find an answer to my question.
I am lowered on Stance GR+ coilovers and using a 20mm Front/25mm Rear spacer setup on OEM 19" Rays.
I currently have 225/40/19 front and 245/40/19 rear Hankook Evo 12 tires. I am looking to replace my rear tires since they are just about done and was wondering if I could run 245/35/19 in the rear until I need to replace my fronts which I will be replacing with 225/35/19?
Any info is much appreciated!
