Any problems running either of the sizes above?
You should run a 245/35/19 245/40/19 combo. Do NOT stick a 275 on an oem 19

Thanks! Oddly enough tirerack.com recommends that 275 as an alternative

Oddly enough they DON'T. Read the fine print at the bottom of the page:

"The optional sizes listed above are found to fit most vehicles when using proper wheels. General vehicle condition, vehicle and wheel application can affect proper tire fitment. Optional sizes should be carefully tested on a vehicle and clearances with the body work and suspension should be checked prior to driving on a tire. Failure to do so can cause damage to the vehicle and/or sudden tire failure due to tire damage caused by contact with the vehicle."

See the comment about proper wheels? On the G35C, that means wider wheels with the proper offset, not the stock 19" 8.5" wide wheel.

You're Welcome. Now with that being said, a 265/35/19 tire should work just fine on an 8.5" wheel. Tire manufacturer's recommend a 9" minimum width, however 8.5" will work with a 265 tire. I caution you to go no bigger however.

This thread is pretty informative. I just had one quick question. Is it ok if I run 225/45 19 in the front? I know stock siz 225/40 19 but there is a set of sale these front specs.

Since it would be increasing the side wall a bit, I didn't think it would be a problem.

Thanks,

John

I have OEM Potenzas. Fronts are worn to hell and have terrible cupping on the inside edge. Rears are fine have only 6-7K miles on them.

Want to move to different tires (Yokohama S.Drive,Hankook Ventus v12 evo, etc... ) in the ~$200 range.

Can I move the Potenza 245/40-19s from the back to the front and start the transition by putting 255/40-19 Yokohama etc.. on the rear?

If not can I put 235/40-19 Yokohama in the front (to maintain the stagger) with the rear at 245/40-19 and when the rear Potenzas die put 255/40-19 yoko in the back?

I used the this calculator.

calculator

Thanks

I know this has been discussed.

The main question is: Is there anything wrong with taking tires that have had 7000 miles on the rear of the car and putting them on the front?

After they wear out, i'll go with 245/35-19 S.Drives in the front.

What size rear tire? The 45 aspect ratio will probably make the front quite a bit taller than the rear.

Right now i have Bridgestone Potenza's (not sure what ones right off but standard sizes)

The backs are almost gone but the fronts still have more then 50%. I would like to save some money so i am looking into Falken FK 452 or Yokohama S.drive's. Will different brands make a difference in drive or just in how they look (they would not match)

Also what one do people recommend. i have read about both but wanted a little more feedback.

I drive about 60miles a day for work most with which is sporty so i would like them to be somewhat durable

thank you!

Your front tires are really small compare to your rear tire size you should have done a 235/40R19 it would have been just about 5mm height and width difference compared to the stock front size 225/40R19. your rear tires are good because its also about a 5mm difference between factory rear.

Not (happily) if you have VDC. You'd need 255/35/19.
