Which tire size to go with?

Quick question, I'm buying a set of wheels 18x8 front, 18x9 back with 20+ offset.

I plan to run 225/45-18's in the front. For the back I have two options: 245/45 and 270/40. A 9 inch wide wheel is the maximum width of a wheel to fit a 245 wide tire, but the same size wheel is the minimum for a 275 wide tire. Which tire size would you pick?

Considering the rather aggressive offset, I'm thinking to go with the 245. According to the rim/tire calculator, a 275 tire would make the whole package stick out a little too much for my liking (1.3 inches more vs. 0.7 inch......keeping in mind that the front will only stick out 0.4 inches more). Am I good to go?

Btw, I'm going with Continental Extremecontacts (ultra high performance all season - W rated).

Any particular reason? I'm not sure that size is available for this tire, but I'll have to double check. Also, I think it's still going to stick out quite far...probably around 1.1 inches.

What would be best for ride quality and tread wear?

Ive got a 265/35/19 on my front 19x9" wheel and its pretty bulky. 245's in front and 265's out back would do you well with that setup. Your wheels arent very wide so the offset isnt that aggressive. It shouldnt stick out too far

I searched 265/40 on Tirerack (where I'm buying tires from) and there's no all-season tire combination of that with 225's. There is a 245 & 265 Yokohama combo, but that's going to be around $350 more.....

Will there be anything wrong with 225 and 245? I've seen people running even tighter fits on bigger wheels......

Btw, the 2008 G37 uses 245 wide tires on its 19x9 wheel on the rear......

If Infiniti is doing it, should be good (except for the diff. offset of course).....

IF you run 18" go 245/40/18 (front) 275/40/18 (back)
