Help - tech guys says need to remove a brake stud for the wheel to fit

Ok, I'm really confused and somewhat worried now. I just got a call from my wheel/tire installer and he says that they had to remove a brake "stud" which I think is an extra bolt from the brakes for my 18x8 TSW mondello offset 20+ wheel to fit.....

What the hell is this? He says that removed it and doesn't seem to do anything at all, so removing it shouldn't be a problem. Anyone know what the heck this is or have a simmilar experience?

If it is the extra locating pin besides your 5 studs and it is on the front, it is okay to remove it.
You did not say the model G35 you have. If it normally has staggered tires then it is an extra pin in the front to prevent you from putting your back tires on the front.

2004 Coupe with stock 17's. So the extra stud may just be to prevent putting on the rear wheels on the front?

Yes, if it's just the sleeve that is bolted on the front hub, it is perfectly okay to remove it when you use aftermarket rims.

Thanks. I'll have a talk with them in person to find out what is going on. Sounds like I shouldn't be too worried.....

You're right, it was an extra pin next to the 5 studs (he showed me in person).

Thanks for prompt help.
