Rear Tire has a nail...repairable?

Hey Guys,

Sorry about the pics. I got a nail or a some kind of foreign object in my tire. It is also leaking air as well. That is, there is a LOUD audible sound of leaking air coming from the "nail".

Is this tire repairable?

I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Thanks

What would be better? Patch or plug? I read that a combination of the two is best. That is a patch and then a plug. If one is only offered then I read that patch is better than plugging.

Then I am also reading of the speed ratings being affected by repaired tires.

I really don't want to spend so much on a new tire but at the same time I want to do it right

I know, I realized this as well. The Tire shop and well obviously the Dealer, said that i still have life left on them. They look pretty low to me as well.

Will get a better interpretation tomorrow when I take it to my dealer.

Yeah I kept reading that the patch plug repair combo was the best fit for repairing this.

What about speed ratings?

Just buy a plug and do it yourself.

get the patch and plug. When they patch they remove the tire from the rim and prep the tire by cleaning the area and grinding it down a little to get a good surface for the glue to bond. They might not do it though your tires look like they are close to needing replaced.

From the pictures, your wear looks pretty even accross. It's very unusual to see even wear on a Coupe. What brand and size tires do you have and are they from the fronts or rears? By the way, a patch/plug combo is the best way to go. I had a tire shop for many years up north.

OEM 19's
225/40/19 front
245/40/19 rear
Forgot the brand. But they are stock, so whatever brand that comes from the dealer is what I have on.

The one in the picture is the rear right tire, so 245/40/19

patch plug it is.
