Replacment Tires for Sedan

I want to put wider tires on my 6MT sedan (stock 17' rims) to improve the handling. What size and which tires do you guys recommend keep in mind that i live in Atlanta Ga and hardly ever see snow so won't need winter tires. Also I only have 2500mi on the original Goodyear GS-D's what do you think I can sell those for? If at all.

Your help is appreciated.

go with 235ZR50/17 Michilin Pilot Sport A/S tires - about $210 each at TireRack. Nothing can beat them on stock rims.

Wanna buy my stock 18" rims with Michelins? They've got ~ 5K miles.

Anyone? PM me.

Another option is Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Position or Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires in 225/55R17. This option will have your speedometer off by 1mph at 60. These are both summer tires, handle water great, but don't like snow. I'm basing this off all the reviews and research I've looked at. One of these two will be my next set of tires. I'm in San Diego, so same as you.. no snow worries.

The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is also supposed to be great, and also handle snow. In a 235/50R17 size, your speedometer won't even be off. I may eventually try these, as well.

You may also want to try Toyo Proxes TS-1s. I have the Pilot A/S's and the tire noise is making me dump them for the Toyos. I am getting the Proxes4's as I need some snow ability, the old just in case situation. The Toyos can be found at treadepot.com if you want to see the features and the pricing.

What size Toyo's are you referring to? They don't make T1's in a size that fits the Sedan's stock rims.

FYI - discounttiredirect.com is giving a $60 instant rebate on four Michelin tires. They were about the same price delivered as TireRack before the rebate. I just ordered a set of A/Ss, 235/50/17.
