VERY Important wheel Question 4 Sedan

I am about to buy a set of Gewalt EVO III's from a reputable dealer. They only have one set left in size 19x8 and 19x9. The offsets are both 31. According to the sizing chart, neither one of these wheels will fit, but the guy is promising me that they will. He says he will refund all of my money (including shipping) if they don't. I am not sure what to do!! I need to know tonight, because it is a TREMENDOUS deal. He says that offsets vary depending on the style of the wheels. Please help!!!

If I don't order these, I will have to wait at least 2 months for the new ones to come from Japan!! Aaaahhhhhhh!

Re: VERY Important wheel Question 4 Sedan

That is pretty true about the offsets depending on the wheel. Looking a the offsets he is providing, the sizes and also they are Gewalts, they will fit but be really close to the fender.

I would go ahead and give them a try since he is also supporting you on a full refund. I see no harm in trying...

Did you check out the sedan wheel fitment chart? According to it, this size is way off. I have 20 minutes left to call to get this deal.

Re: VERY Important wheel Question 4 Sedan

Oh yes, they will fit ... but they will stick out like a sore thumb if you're car's at stock ride height. I think the dude may have confused ur Sedan for the Coupe clearance or is simply not aware of the differences that exist.

Unless you plan on lowering your car and induce some negative camber, I don't see how it will *look* good. Why don't you give it a try since he's offering money back guarantee? You ain't got much to lose there. Try and see for yourself!

Re: VERY Important wheel Question 4 Sedan

That is what I was concerned about. I don't want them to stick out or rub. I am not going to lower the vehicle. I agree with what you are saying, but he is being persistant about it, saying he has done this for 20 years, etc. I specifically told him that the coupe is different than the sedan, etc.

Re: VERY Important wheel Question 4 Sedan

I just called him back again (I think he is starting to get irritated with me; I guess I would too). Anyway, I asked him what he was using for the coupes with this wheel, and he said 21-25 offset. Maybe this wheel is different than most. And again, he said that he wouldn't tell me they would fit if he wasn't positive. He must be pretty confident to say that, with free refund shipping, etc. I would still like to hear your opinions, though. I'm so confused

Re: VERY Important wheel Question 4 Sedan

I had a +38 offset on a 8.5" wide wheel in front. The wheels did not stick out, but were just a little too close.

I suggest you get this guy to put the guarantee of fitment in writing so you don't get screwed like I did when the wheels don't fit the way you want them too.

Re: VERY Important wheel Question 4 Sedan

I suggest you don't get them. Theres a very low likelihood that they'll work. Although that guy is "promising" you that he will refund your money, unless he is your best friend... "they always find a way" (to charge you)... its more hassle then its worth (imo)...

its a killer deal, but i think you can keep shopping around and find a similar one. for example, if you go to www.wheelmax.com... under 5zigen evo, which is the same as gewalt evo, (5zigen imports them secretly i think), they have the 19 X 8 and 19 X 9 for 235 and 245, i think.

Re: VERY Important wheel Question 4 Sedan

I wouldn't do it either, what we know about what is right and wrong concerning sedan wheel fitment and what tire widths you can and cannot use, says it won't work. Eikei says that 18x9 rims with 38mm offset will only have 2mm clearance between the tire and the fender lip and that only with a 245 width on. In this case the good deal, really isn't one.
