245/35/19 tires on stock 19" Rays Wheels?

I need tire replacements for the stock 19" g35 coupe dual spoke rays wheels...

Some local retailer quoted me a great price for 245/35/19 tires, for 4. He said if I go 245/35/19 all around it should be fine.

However, the stock ones are 225/40/19 FRONTS, and 245/40/19 REARS.

Do you guys know if it will be alright? He also said I could go 245/35/19 rears and 235/35/19 fronts if i wanted to. Unfortunately he doesn't have the stock sizes.

Should i just go 245/35/19 all around? Will that screw up my speedo or anything?

Help appreciated, thanks

don't put 245/35/19 all around and especially not on the rear. Go stock sizes, or 245/35/19 front 255/40/19 rear, your speedo WILL be screwed up with a 245/35/19 in the rear and your VDC may also not like it

I thought the stock ones were very very similar, 245/40/19... a size of 245/35/19 would screw it up?

245/35/19 is almost an inch shorter than stock and will throw off your speedometer by 3.6%, why don't you just get the correct size?

You can do it, just be aware that your speedo will be off.

I think you should look up what the RIGHT tire dia are for diff sizes. Use one of the many tire calcs on the net. Miata.net has one.

I think you should concentrate on putting the right sized tires on VS whatever the salesman you are working with has in stock or just happens to be able to get.

yeah i'm saving about $600 if i go w/ the sizes i mentioned as opposed to getting the perfect stock sizes

but i might just pay the extra and not have to worry about it

yes, and you'll have less pothole protection, and it'll just look goofy in general
