Hi there, any one know the difference in stiffness between the Nismo sway bar, from the original...... Thanks

 

Ducatiguy and Rugratcoupe both run nismo swaybars on their coupe. Both say it's noticably better then stock.

I dont know the exact % increase in stiffness, but the bars are thicker than stock. Nismos are 35mm front and 22mm rear.

I also have the Nismo sway bars, and noticeable is an understatement. Car handling is changed for the better IMO. Less understeer.

Um I paid $369 for my sway bars....you must be thinking about the S-Tune springs/shocks.

A grand? I dont know where you got that price, but I paid $500 from Gruppe-S back in like June when I got my Coupe. They've come down in price since. You just gotta shop around.

And yes, they're very impressive and you'll notice a night and day difference in handling! Best of all, installtion is a snap!

On the front sway bar, the there is a washer-like object with a notch on it. How do you tighten the bolt without it moving around? What is the best placement of the notch?

I noticed this notch has a significant impact on ride quality.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If im not going to lower the car, but want better handling, I would think sway bars would be the way to go. Does anyone have the Nismo sway bars on a non-lowered Coupe 6mt? How much different is the ride with the new sway bars?

Yes, where it mounts up there's a bronze washer with an "L" shaped bracket... When you tighten the bolt in the back, the washer slides counterclockwise. Eventually it stops against the sway bar, but I believe it should be centered when fully tightened.

The sway bars work equally well on non lowered cars as they do on lowered cars. Sway bars have NO effect on the ride quality of the car. Ride quality is effected if you swap out the stock shocks, springs and or wheels (lower profile tires). The sway bars will give you a night and day diference in handling. Its one of those mods that very few actually take the time to look into, but one that will give you the greatest gains in terms of what you can actually feel as soon as you put them on.

Stability and over all control of the car are enhanced ten fold!
