19" Tyres - Bridgestone RE50 vs Toyo T1R

Well I need some need tyres for my VSXX 19"s. I found out today that 245/40/19 in Toyo T1R is a special order from the distributor. I can still get them but they take some time - esp in the case I need to get a replacement one and then im sol.

Anyways RE50 (not the pole position) vs T1r - what's better in terms of traction, sidewall, side rim protection?

Should I go with the RE050A - pole position? I won't be going to the track at all but i daily drive my car around 80kms.

Thanks,
Clint

The Bridgestone's have a lot of road noise, but the Toyo's wear fast... I am about to replace my Toyo's with KDW's or Michelin's. I put the Toyo's on in November, and they are completely gone in the back. 15k on them I don't track my car either.

Clint, the RE050's are an oem tire, therefore they have minimal treadwear. If you want a great, long lasting, good performance tire, then i'd suggest the Potenza RE960AS pole positions. They're a high performance all season and they out perform the michelin pilot a/s in every way. They even have 40k mile tread wear warranty. Dont waste your time or money with the RE050's or the RE050A pole positions.

I did a search and only found 245/35. I think you were looking for 245/40 right?

Have you looked at the Kumho Ecsta SPT? They have a pretty good tread rating and people seem to like it on tirerack

kuhmos

i just put the kuhmo spt on my sedan. i had conti contact3's and the kuhmos are smoother, quieter and seem to handle better. the cost is over $350 less to boot.
