Low Tire Pressure Light

I was told that when you've changed from your factory stock wheels to aftermarket and when driven non-stop for about 45 miles, your low tire pressure light will come up. Does this happen to anyone and what did you guys do? Does this affect anything?

That happens when I have my winter wheels on. It's no big deal. The light goes back off when you turn the car off.

If the aftermarket wheels do not contain the tire pressure sensors, the light does not come on, The light comes on when the car "gets" a signal from the TPS that the pressure is low - no sensor=no signal=no light.

I turned off and turn back on my car, it's still there. It's been there for like a week now. But if it doesn't do anything to my car, then I won't really worry about it.

Mine is always on with my Volks... ever since I took the sensors out. You'll get used to it.

so since my low tire pressure light is comin on, that means i have the sensors on my aftermarket rims? is there any way to turn the light off cuz it'd be nice to know when my tires are really flat, not 24/7?

Ok, I'm running aftermarket wheels without TPS installed.

The Low Tire pressure Indicator comes on after approx. 40 miles of continuous driving.

Once I shut off then restart the car, the indicator goes off, and doesn't come on again until another ~40 miles of continuous driving.

can you bring the valves from the stock rims and attach them to the aftermarket rims?

Yes, using one method or another. Some aftemarket rims will accept the TPMS sensors in the usual valve stem location. Others won't. On my Mayas, the valve stem comes out and makes a 90 degree bend. I strapped my TPMS sensors to the inside of the rim with a metal band.

Tire Sensors.......!

When I had my Volks installed they just put the sensors in the normal position
and they work fine.......zero issues! Leave them on if possible, it's a nice
option to have........

Is the sensor inside the wheel and require a tire shop to remove it and install on aftermarket wheel? or something we can do at home??
