19" rear and 18" front? Anyone else doing this?

Ok, thinking of some wheels to buy that are 19x10 rear 35 offset and 18x8 front with 35 offset for my coupe. If I go this combo what size tires should I go with?
This is common practice with Corvettes and I was wondering why more G and Z people do not go this route.

Most people don't go that route because the wheels are available in matching diameter sets and you'd have to custom order wheels to get that effect. No reason you can't, will work fine if you get the appropriately sized tires. Just no huge benefit.

....and therein lies my dilemma. I can tell you from memory what sizes will work on my vette with any given size rim and tire but am kinda clueless about the G. Any suggestions on tire size?
Best,
Chris

Ok wheel gurus. Tell me if this will work....
295/35/19 rear 35 offset 19x10 wheel
265/40/18 front 32 offset 18x8 wheel
Thanks in advance,
Chris

If I had it to do over again, that's what I would do. I'd put 18 X 8.5" wheels with 245/40/18 tires in front and 19X 9.5" or 10" in back with 275/35/19 tires. For wheels, I'd choose Nismo. I now have 18" Nismo. With the 18/19 setup, using the tires I have listed, you would keep the sidewall height constant, front to back.

Note: 1. The 350Z GT has the 18/19 set/up.
2. The Staggered Wheel outer diameter front to rear will cease to be cease to be an issue with the G37.

Both of those tires are taller than stock, but maintain the proper difference in rolling speed %. The key is to stick with a 26" tall front and 26.7" tall rear, or a set of tires that are proportionally the same, realizing that taller or shorter tires will affect your speedometer and odometer accuracy. Good chance you'll rub on the rears if you lower the car. Will need to look at fender rolling if that's the case.

FWIW, I don't like those sizes at all for the wheel size as a street tire. A 265 might be too wide for the 18x8 for any manufacturers recommended specs. For those wheel sizes, I'd go with a 245/40/18 in the front and 275/35/19 in the rear.

those size tires give me 25.7" front and 26.56 rear. That is close enough?
Best,
Chris

Even more important - if you don't maintain the front to rear diameter ratio you will give your VDC system fits and have it kicking in when it shouldn't.

same rims

I'm running a set of Rays that are std on the Z Grand Tour model, 245/40/18 up front and 265/35/19 in the rear every thing seems fine but as my G is a base I dont have LSD so don't know if that would be affected.

Never heard of a "G" without VDC.
