Unfortunately I ran over some thing not so nice, and cut my right rear pretty bad. These were the stock summer Bridgestones - 235/45 18s. Both of the rears were pretty worn in the middle of the tread, and the right rear is not patchable, so I was going to get 2 new summer tires, and throw them up front, and then move the fronts to the back...

I'm certainly not a tire expert, so I was just wondering what tires are working well for everyone out there. I know I really should buy 4 new, however the 2 fronts still have some rubber left on them, and I'm not exactly rolling in the dough right now having just bought a house, so for now I'd just like to get 2. Then next Spring I will get 2 more, of the same kind so I have 4 matching.

Anyway, can I put 235/40 18s on the 6mt 5 spoke wheels? I know 40 is the aspect ratio, and the 40 aspect ratio will be a bit wider then the 45s, correct?

I see a lot of the Falkens being mentioned on here, how about the rt615s? I'm willing to pay for 2 good tires. Performance (dry and wet grip) and tread life are most important to me, ride and road noise really aren't a factor.

Maybe me post was a bit vague, my question is can the 2005 6mt 18" wheels accomodate a tire with a 40 aspect ratio? The tires that came on the car were 235/45 18s, can I go with a 235/40 18" tire?
