Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

i just put the hotchkis sways on my g35 coupe. they are 3 way adjustable in the front and rear. for the front, the stiffness over stock can be set at 9%, 32%, or 63%.

for the rear, the stiffness over stock can be set at 54%, 92%, or 146%.

i have mine set at full stiff front, and medium rear to stiffen the car up everywhere, but give a slight rear bias. with stock tires, i would imagine i could be getting myself into a bit of trouble, but i have 20" wheels with a 245/275 package.

the setup is great...body roll was eliminated, and turn in is much easier (no more holding on with the thighs). also, i have no more slippage while out of turns on the throttle.

and for $250 out the door (no tax, no shipping). i don't understand why people are spending almost, or even more than 500 bucks.

i got them from titan on a group buy that is still going on. www.titanmotorsports.com. thanks guys!!

good luck all!!

Got a 'direct link' to that group buy you're referring to?
I can't seem to find it at www.titanmotorsports.com.

Thanks

Re: Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

I ordered them yesterday for my sedan from Hotchkis for $300+tax and shipping... Are yours red? I have ordered other parts from them and they never send the color shown on the site. Whats your feeling on going medium on front and rear on a sedan?

Re: Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

mine are definitely red.

i just called titan because my friend told me about the group buy after he had purchased some for his celica. it was pretty informal.

as far as going medium on both...that would put a heavy bias on the rear, and make it pretty tail happy. i don't know how the sedan and coupe compare, though. i would go full stiff on the front to balance it out. hotchkis actually reccomended full stiff front, and full soft rear. this is probably to protect them, however.

Re: Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

Thanks for the info! They recommend that I use full stiff-front & rear. I am not sure I want that. Glad to know yours are red. Did you have any issues with the install?

Re: Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

install was very straight forward. i was doing an oil change at the time, so i just made it a combo deal. total time was just over two hours with the oil change included.

i takes about three tools. a breaker bar or extension is reccomended, because the bolts are pretty tight

Re: Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

nice...now put those beeoches in! they look awesome on the carpet, but work better on the car.

you can play around with full stiff on the rear for fun, but it is pretty hard to get yourself into trouble with that 285 back there.

now all you need is some gunmetal wheels. haha.

Re: Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

You may have to dimple the Stillen just abit...shouldn't hurt the exhaust at all. The hotchkis sways are damn good. My sedan has seen the understeer go away and the grins are getting dangerous. I feel like I need to relearn how to drive her hard as the understeer is gone. Get'em!

Re: Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

Can you explain a little more on what you might have to do with the Stillen exhaust to fit the sway bar? How and where would you dimple the exhaust?

Have you noticed any kind of squeaking or weird noises?

Re: Installed Hotchkis Sways!!

does this have any affect on the VDC? I thought I read somewhere that certain sway bar setups will not work with the stock VDC...what's the story on that?

Otherwise, sounds like a great buy. Something I'll consider...
