Wider Tires On Stock Rims

Has anyone tried 245/45/17's on the front and 255/45/17's on the rear of their 17 inch stock coupe wheels? If so, any problems or noticeable improvement?

Should be fine, just get a 35 or 40 series, as 45 will have a pretty big sidewall since you aren't stretching the tire at all. People have done 275's on a 8" tire with no ill effects.
