Spacer Problem (sigh)
Spacer Problem (sigh)
I just got some H&R 15mm and 20mm spacers. I tried to put them on tonight, but it did not work. There is no cutout in the spacer like I see here,
https://g35driver.com/forums/picture-share/134539-05-ip-g-m45-wheels-awesome-looking-ride-pix.html
for the old studs/bolts. The spacers in the picture are 25mm, if it makes a difference.
I think I need to take the stud out and replace them with the ones that came with the spacers. I would then bolt the wheel to the H&R studs through the spacer.
Is this correct? For some reason I do not think this is correct.
Thanks for the replys.

Your spacers are correct. H&R spacers below 25mm do not come with built in studs. You have to replace your stock studs with longer ones. Project Kics are the only spacers that have built-in studs for 15mm & 20mm sizes.
I certainly hope they are longer.
I haven't done it personally, but usually, when you want to remove a stud, you thread a nut down the stud, leaving several threads exposed. Then, you thread another nut down on to the same stud and tighten it against the first stud, making sure that they are tight against each other. Then, take a wrench and rotate the first nut you put on counterclockwise. The pressure from the second nut will prevent the first nut from turning up the threads and should allow you to unscrew the stud.
BTW, use a LOT of Liquid Wrench on the studs before you try to loosen them.
GL!

I don't think I can do that. I guess I will stop by the dealership to see if they can, otherwise I will have to get some other spacers.
The studs don't appear to be longer.
Getting my wheels on is taking FOREVER!!!!

Well, I was just quoted $550 by the dealership to swap the studs out.
I am going to buy some project Mu spacers. I hope I do not have any problems with them. They should bolt to the origional studs and the wheels to the spacer studs, correct?
Where should I buy them?
