I have Nismo's which are 9.5", lot's of us here have that width. You really think most of the forum members who have put on 19s have 10.5" wheels? I don't.


OK - In summary if you have 8.5" fronts and 9.5" or 10" rears, put on 245/35/19 and 275/35/19. If your fronts are 9" or 9.5" put on 255/35/19 and if your rears are 10.5" put on 285/35/19.

I'm running 255/35/19 x 9.5 up front and 285/35/19 x 10.5 at the rear. I am quite pleased with this set-up.

what about 20x9 and 20x10? ive never had 20s before.. so i was going to go with 255/35 and 285/30 (same as accordfreak).

I know little about 20s, because IMO, they are really too big for the car. But, again that's JMO.

However, I do know with the two sizes you are suggesting, you'll kill the stagger and the OD will be larger in both the front and the back than stock. The stock stagger is something like 25.7" in front and 26.7" in back. The sizes you mention are both the same, around 27". 255/30/20 and 285/30/20 would maintain the stagger. Those sizes are available from Michelin in their PS2 tire. They would be 26.1" and 26.9". These will also fit your wheels. Hope this helps.

Anyway my fronts are 19x8.5 and rears are 19x9.5

Currently I have Toyo T1R proxies 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear.

I want to save some money.

General Tires Exclaim UHP are ~$200 cheaper installed than the Proxies if I order from Tire Rack and have them shipped to and installed at a nearby shop.

But they only come in 245/35/19 and 275/30/19

Is there any issue if I do this? I'll note that I'm effectively nuetered at this point by traffic tickets and will not be doing any aggressive driving at all. Fastest I drive is about 75mph, even on the way to Vegas

It can cause issues with your VDC even during normal driving, some people have gotten away with it, and some have had major issues and have had to get new tires, its up to you to decide, but we've given you the correct advice.

It seems like a no brainer to me. Why risk improper operation of the VDC - an imporatant safety feature to save $200? And costing even more if it you need to buy proper tires to correct it malfunctioning.

i have 9.5 f/r, running 245/35/19 and 275/30/19. i dont have MAJOR vdc issues but when i make uphill right hand turns it comes on at times. again, nothing major.

Our Coupes were built to accommodate the stagger. BTW, the '08s have staggered tire sizes, but not staggered ODs like our coupes. Other cars with staggered ODs are Vetts, Vipers, Italian exotics and etc. IOW, we're in pretty good company, and the VDC, and handling characteristics are designed for this stagger. In the 245/35, 275/30 scenario, the rears are the same OD or marginally smaller than the fronts. As well as affecting the handling and the VDC, they look crappy because of the extra half inch of gap between the tire top and fender lip. All this to save a few bucks This is a $40K sports car for gosh sakes. I'm sure if you must save a few bucks there are life style changes you could make, or you could buy a Civic or Corolla and save a lot more
