Installing Brembo's
Installing Brembo's
Let me start be saying, I don;t know anything about installing brakes. I have a G35C 5AT. I'm gonna need new brakes soon, so i figured maybe i could have brembo's put on. Wanted to know how much, and if its possible without switching out to many parts. or does anyone have a better suggestion?
Re: Installing Brembo's
Well, I'm assuming needing new brakes soon would just mean the pads. Your coupe is at most 2 years old, and rotors and calipers should be lasting you longer than that. What the 6MT has is a larger brake disc and the brembo caliper, and if you say you know nothing about brakes, the caliper big orange thing on the 6mts. I'm not sure about how much it costs but, it will cost a lot more than changing the pads, which what sounds like all you really need. You can get better brake pads, which is an issue that I don't know much about.

Re: Installing Brembo's
The brakes are not hard to install. But you have to think about how much you're willing to spend. The cheapest I've found the calipers new online is $900 each for the front. You'll need both calipers, new rotors, and new pads. That's about $2000 at best right there. For that price you should get the 13.1" stoptech kit.
Re: Installing Brembo's
yeah if you are going to spend the cash to update the calipers i would go with something different. Everyones got the Brembos so why not go with the Stop Tecs or Ap Brakes or Alcon or Wilwood or Project Mu. all those are great brakes and will help in the stoping distance and brake fading. Though the Stock AT brakes are very very good basicaly stop just as short as the brembos but the Brembos resist fade better then the stock AT brakes
good luck

Also, the 03 - 04 sedans and the 5At coupes have a brake pad warranty. See this thread in TSB's
