Exclamation M45 Sport wheels on G35 sedan

OK I got my M45 sport wheels on Saturday. They are fitted with Falken TS115's in 245 35 19. They look nice , just a little stretched, should have gone with 255's.

First thing I notice, the speedo is 2.5 mph fast! I can live with that.

Second, when making a relatively hard left turn, I think the wheel weights on the inside are rubbing on a suspension arm (have not confirmed this by crawling under).

Question: Do I need spacers? If so, how much? Where to buy?

I went to the local auto parts emporium and all they had were the "universal" type made out of "pot" metal. No way to insure that they will center or be in balance.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Bill

Are your wheels flush with your fenders? IIRC, VQ Hotness's setup (m45 wheels on his sedan) required spacers in the rear to achieve a more flushed look.

A few of our sponsors should be able to get the spacers you are looking for. OptionImports.com is also a good place to get them.

No, not flush, but I haven't measured it yet to see how much. I think I can get by with 5mm of space. I hope I can do that without replacing the studs.

Even with 5mm spacers you may not get the required amount of turns to safely seat the lugs.

I found some 3mm but they come with the studs. Hope they are not too hard to replace.

Kinda weird really, I saw a 2005 G sedan at a used car dealership in Portland Tx. It had the Wheels on it. One day I was at out local grocery store (HEB) and saw the car there. I left a biz card under the wiper that said: "I love your wheels!". About 3 or 4 months later, I got a call from the guy wanting to sell them. He was asking $1200 AND my tires and rims. I told him thanks but no thanks. He called back about two months later and went down to $500 and my tires/wheels. So I got them.

I just got the 5mm spacers for the front and all should be well soon.

Put them on today. 5mm Ichiba aluminum spacers. http://optionimports.com/ns-50205-a056.html

Now I have a question: I put the spacers on without replacing the studs that came with the kit. (lazy) Without the spacers the lug nuts take 9 rounds until tight. WITH the spacers, they take almost 6 turns. Is that enough? It should be about a 1/2" of stud covered with the nut, vs 5/8" w/o the spacers.

FYI, if you didn't realize it, that's because you went with a 245/35/19 instead of 245/40/19.

Little too late since you already went with the 5mm, but other people I know who have put the M 19" wheels on their sedans have gone with the 10 mm spacer and longer studs. Personally, I'd press in new studs with spacers regardless of thickness.

I would almost go with a 15mm bring that bad boy to a +35 offset. Also that way you can get project kics spacer and dont have to replace the studs. I am sometimes lazy too.
