simple winter tire question

hey
how long do winter tires last for? the reason i ask is because i found 225/45/18 BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK LM22 for 300 for all 4 with 3000 miles on them. would this be a good deal and would they be good with 3k miles on them?

let me know
thanks
mike

Great Deal, They will have lots of wear left, they are almost new as long as the owner wasn't driving the crap out of them. You should be good for a few years with those tires.

I just put my Toyo Garit HT's back on for the their third winter. I keep a spreadsheet to track my tire use and measure them as I change over in the spring and fall. In the first two winters I had them on for a total of 37 weeks and 7,769 km (4,792 miles) and they have only worn by half of 1/32. They were 12/32 new, and most tire makers recommend replacement at 6/32.
My son's Nokian Hakka 2's have shown almost no measurable wear in 13,476 km (8,311 miles), while my wife's Toyo G-02's have worn by 1/32 in only 6,396 km (3,944 miles) - both on front wheel drive cars.

Long story short - quality winter tires don't wear out nearly as fast as people might lead you to believe. Sorry, no experience with Blizzacks but I wouldn't expect them to be dramatically different.

Yeah, 225/45/18 will fit all around since the rims itself is all the same width, but the coupe will be looking for 245/45/18 in the rear to keep the VDC from having a hissy fit.
