what are some decent, but moderately priced tires?

I haven't tried these avid w4s but i LOVE the v4s. I have daily driver needs and I loathe replacing tire. These are considered ultra high performance all-season(not really snow, I live in FL so I don't care.) tires. The treadwear of the v4s are 500(this can't be compared across manufacturers. This is only relative within the manufacturer's line.). I used them on my subaru and traded very little daily sport performance for super long wear. I just purchesed them for the girl's sedan. Next week I'll give a report(getting them mounted Sat.) These w4s are rated @ 400. I used to buy all the latest bubble gum back in the day, but I'm 37 now and don't like buying tires anymore. General Exclaim UHP is a great tire. Very inexpensive and #1 rated Ultra High Performance summer tire at tirerack.com. I have them on my sedan and they are amazing. They stick like glue wet or dry, and have low road noise. Very happy with them. The best part, installed at Tire Kingdom, they were about $600 for the full set. And on top of all this, they have really good treadware rating.

Why spend more when you can get great tires for much less money?

Was going to say the same, I went to Discount Tire (auth. dealer) but the size I wanted was on a one month back order. I ended up with Falken TS115 and so far they have been great.

Mine are 245/45-18 on 18x8 rims. Looks good, and fits without any rubbing problems. Tires may be slightly higher profile than some prefer, but I like it.
Tire Kingdom is a national (?) chain of tire stores. They may not be out west. They are all over the southeast. And they will order direct from tirerack.com for you, for the same price. So you don't have to hassle with transporting four tires in your G. Out west, maybe Les Schwab or some other tire store could get them.
