Question about after installing Spacers
Question about after installing Spacers
I know I would need to roll my fenders after I've installed the 20" & 25" spacers. I've been hearing rubbing when I drive up/down ramps. Is it rubbing the front tires or the back tires?
Also, What would be the "bad" part if i did not roll my fender? (I know one is that my tires life will be shorter, but what about the car itself?)

You will just keep hearing that noise, make sure to look on the side walls of your tires, make sure they are not being cut into too much...
Next time you get tires, just get a smaller width and most likely you will not rub any more...
What is your current wheel set up?
Size / Width / Offset and what is your tire size, and what size spacers on each wheel...

Tire sizes are F275/40/19 R275/35/19. I added spacers +25mm all around. I don't know what are the offsets for the Axis Penta. Danny @ Integry Auto couldn't figure it out either. So we tested it and He said I could have gone +30mm for the back too, but I was afraid, so I went with +25mm all around. What would you guys recommend for the new tires?
The Scraping noise I hear is coming from the rear fender right?
Thanks for helping.
So you are running a shorter tire in the rear then in the front?
I do not know the sound you are hearing, but from the looks of your tire sizes unless you posted the spec's wrong, your tires are mounted on the front when they should be on the rear etc...
Im confused....

275/40/19 is way to tall for the front, that is most likely where the rubbing is. The 275/40 overall diameter is 27.7 and you should be around 26.1. Try 275/30 for the front and you should be OK depending on your wheel width and overall offset after you added the spacer.

When I bought the rims with the tires, they said it's better like this, so i took their word for it. My Front says 275/40/19 and Rear is 275/35/19. So you think it's my front that's rubbing, not my rear? I thought it would be my rear that's I am hearing when I go up a ramp.
Yeah, rear is a normal size...
the front is not only taller than the rear, but way too tall up front!
Do you have pix of your car?
Its like your rear wheels are literally mounted on the front and front on the back!

Here's the picture of the car. It made curious when I realized the front tires were 40 and the back were 35.

LOL, Sorry, I just went outside to check again. The Front is 245/35/19 and the Rear is 275/30/19. Sorry for the confusion the whole time.
Still your rear tires are too small than what is recommended... its best to run 245/35/19 / 275/35/19 to maintain the proper staggered fitment...
as far as the rubbing... look in the upper part of the fenders and see if you see any rub marks...

I looked at the rear fender, and there weren't any rubbing marks. I am just afraid that the rubbing might damage the fender. But if it's the rubbing noise I'll be hearing, then I can manage that, I'd have to really slow down when I go up/down a ramp/driveway. Thanks a lot for your input.
