Car Wash screwed up my VOLKS!

I go to this hand car wash all the time so the guys know NOT to use anything but soap and water on my wheels..well this NEWBIE puts some sort of wheel brightner **** on my VOLKS and now there are stains that can't come out. IS THERE ANY HELP FOR ME OR ARE WHEELS TOAST?

The finish is done. You have to get them stripped and repolished, and then keep up the maintenence on the bare aluminum lips in the future

Post pics... From the sound of it though, your finish may be done. Metal polish will strip the left over clear coat. Its just a lot of work. When the clear is gone its even more work to keep it shiny.

the place should buy you new wheels for sure. Can you prove that's what caused the issue or would they trust you?

Out of curiosity (since I also have hi polished lips)....

If you were to strip the rest of the clear, and polish the aluminum... Couldn't you just spray clear on the lips?

Sorry to hear that happened. I'd try to go back to the car wash and get them to take responsibility; its worth a shot.

I had it done a little over a year and ahalf ago and it was about 200.00 per wheel for triple plate chroming... They have to dissasemble the wheel, strip, then chrome... Not to bad a price considering that they still look like new
