tire sizing and vdc

Whats up everyone? Right now i'm running falken 452's 255/30/20 F and 285/30/20 R on Foose Speedsters. The front rims are 8.5 and the rear rims are 9.5. I like how the tire fits on the rim, I dont like where the tires have to "strech" and look to small for the rim. I'm looking to upgrade my rims to either Auto Couture Transform or Aristo. But im looking to get a huge lip, like a 3" in the front and a 5" or bigger in the rear. But I'm having trouble getting the right size tires to go with the larger rim widths. Because the rear rim will have to be 10.5" or maybe 11" and for that size rim i want to put a 295/25/20tire on. But if i run that tire on the rear the front tire i could find with a profile close to the rear was a 235/30/20. The front would be 2.04% smaller than stock which equals 61.2 mph and the rear would be 3.41% smaller than stock which equals 62.1 mph. I would rather run a 245/30/20 but that would be 1.16% smaller and 60.6 mph. So after all that would my vdc kick on all the time thinking im spinning out? Sorry for the long write up just wanted you to have all the facts. Thanks for all the responses in advance.

Hey there, Im not sure, honestly. I KNOW it will kick on if the difference gets too big.

The only shred of info I have on this is a guy at townfair tire told me that if you keep the diameter with in .5 inches front/back you will be ok. That is what townfair tires uses at a "rule of thumb". Each car make's VDC is different and is more or less sensitive.

this "might" help you out

If the front is a 9.5", I would go 265/30/20 paired with the 295/25/20 in the rear

Keep in mind, it's not the difference between your stock size to the new size....it's the ratio between the front and rear tires that you have to maintain or come close to regardless of what size you go with.

stock 18's has about 2.7% difference from the front to the back.

Remember the software is set for the loaded circumference not the unmounted tire dimensions.
