Sevas Chrome peeling off??

Yup, gotta love the industry. I can safely say that it is dealers like AutoMotiveMods that give others a bad reputations. AutoMotiveMods, you should really think about evaluating your business strategy again (if you even have one). You are digging yourself into a hole.
ok, here is my two cents. My previous work was being a salesman for a big aftermarket chrome wheel company. We sell to dealers like automotive mods. If there is a request for a wheel to be replaced for warranty, our customer needs to send us the wheel to be examined on what caused it to peel, flake, etc...(like most manufacturers do). Then, we will most likely send one out free of charge to them. The thing is, if a wheel has not been in stock for 5 months, most likely it would be discontinued. Since this is not a new wheel that needs a new mold to be produced, then they shouldnt be out of stock for that long. What the heck is the purchasing department doing over at Sevas then?? At most, if Automotive Mods have stated that they've turned down requests for many people already, it should be a great selling wheel so Sevas should have them in stock already and not wait for so long and it's still not available. Sounds really fishy to me...good luck getting a new wheel bro...
Hey UrbanZ, do you have pics of your car and wheels that you can post? I would just like to see how your wheels are better then my iForged. Not trying to bash you or anything, just wanna know what material yours are made of and how they differ from, lets say, HRE's, iForged, or DPE's. Cause from what I know, these are amongst the best. Not to mention prices.
For the OP, sorry about your wheels. Sounds like Sevas are the ones that are digging themselves in a whole not Automotive Mods. There is nothing they can do if the wheel is not available. The only fault they may have is mayb not soo great customer service but then again this sounds like a misunderstanding. It just sucks to c a company get bashed on a public forum when its not even there fault, at least I would hate if this happened to me. But anyway, as far as the wheels go, you get what you pay for. Not saying they are bad wheels, cause they are actually very good looking. But they dont level up with other better quality wheels and wheel brands. Dont get me wrong tho, someone can buy a set of 1200/wheel HRE's and still encounter the same problems. But it all depends on what they do to fix it. Im sure you wouldnt have to wait 5 months for it.

That is my car. The wheels are Weds Kranze Borphes. The second pic has dirty wheels, I know.
those weds are not my my style they kind of look like the zenetti dueces with the double star pattern.
to each their own i guess. id still pick a dpe or iforged wheel over that wheel.

I wasn't trying to bash on AM, but when it started I was willing to pay or do what was necessary to get the issue fixed asap. I was just embarrassed by the unexpected flaking.
My problem occurred with them when I was told "It'll be 15 days and we'll contact you" which never happened. Then I pm'd and 15 days turned into 45 days and so on. It just got aggravating wait to hear from someone and I look up and months are passing.

I see it all too often on forums, where a customer has an issue w/ a vendor. They go back and forth, and I see a lot where vendors just aren't willing to accommodate the customer. If it means losing a bit of $ in making them happy, then that's what you gotta do. If it means Automotivemods shelling out $100 to have this guys wheel rechromed, then maybe that's what needs to be done.
Vendors build their true reputation not on how many good, trouble free sales they have, but how they handle the issues and problems that arise.

I dealt with AutoMotiveMods and can say he was straight up and legit when I purchased my Sevas. When I received my rims, I did notice some minor imperfections but assumed they had to do with Sevas being a "subpar" wheel. If I was you, I'd try to get in touch with Sevas and take your issues up with them since it is their product that is defective....
^^no, you take it up with the company who sold it to you and not the manufacturer. Sevas is a wholesaler/manufacturer and they deal with dealers such as automotive mods. Automotive mods sells the wheels for a specified price that has nothing to do with Sevas. Basically said, lets say you bought an Ipod at Costco that was defective, do you take the Ipod back to Costco or do you take it back to APPLE? Of course, take it back to Costco where they will return it to APPLE for a refund.
