I'm near 42k on my OEM Goodyear NCTs and need new tires very soon. the goodyears will cost $1200+ if I go back with the OEMs. I found this tire set form discounttires.com and there seemed to be some good reviews. what do you guys think based upon your knowledge/experiences. these kumhos cost 150 each. how long will they last? any better alternatives?

I've got a set on order through tirerack. They have them ranked number one in some category.

For the price and for what you get, i think it's a great valued tire. It's got a good tread rating and tire rack's website has some very good reviews. some of my friends have them and like them so far. they are not track freaks or anything, but if you are a regular joe, daily driver, no track use, i think they are great for that.
If you are lowered, be aware that unidirectional tires like the SPT will be more prone to feathering. I learned that the hard way with my Avon M550s. If you do get unidirectional tires and/or are lowered, make sure to rotate the tires every 2K miles. Yes, it's excessive, but you'll cut down on the feathering issues you'll have. I strongly suggest going with a asymetrical tire that you can cross rotate (side to side) to fight the feathering issues thanks to the G's aggressive suspension setup.

So DaveB, you had problems with feathering on z springs with these tires? I was looking at them also, but want to lower my car on z spring and am concerned as this is my daily driver and I drive 110 miles a day. Would toe bolts alone help reduce the feathering or do the front tires feather also?
