Help with 10.5 rim and slip light
Help with 10.5 rim and slip light
ok this is very strange so bear with me. I have a set of iforged aeros 19x10.5 rear and 19x9.5 front. i have had them on my car for a year no problem. about 3 months ago i took them off because one of my front tires busted and i had to order a replacement. so i put the factory ones back on and rode on those till i finally got time to put the iforged wheels back on.
so i went to a shop and had them put the iforged wheels back on and take the factory ones off. i pulled out and the slip light kept coming on and my car would just keep slowing down. i was like WTF!!!so i managed to get the car back to the shop and told them what was going and they had no clue what the problem was. (I remind you that the only tire that was changed was the front one the rears stayed the same).the guy at the shop told me that the rims were too big for my car and i told him No sorry i have had the rims on my car for a year and never had any problem like this. so i thought it was the rear wheels and i told them to just rotate the rear wheels and sure enough it worked. I have been driving them for a few months now and no worries. but now my other front tire is wearing out. i took it to discount tire because i have the road hazard warranty and they are going to replace the tire for me. but when the guy was checking out my tires he said that the rotation arrow on my rear tires are going the wrong way and he said i need to switch the rear wheels.i was like WHAT!if i switch the wheels around the RIGHT way i will have the slip problem.
ok so now i am stuck and have no clue what to do. i have to go to discount tire tomorrow to pick up the replacement tires and i need the help of my fellow G35 members. What is going on? why is the slip light coming on? thanks in advance and sorry for the novel. thanks

I think your problem was replacing only a single tire in the first place. Tires should be replaced in pairs, and ideally altogether so the amount of wear on the tires remains relatively the same

have them flip the rear tires if you dont want to swap the rims back the right way. I highly doubt your rear tires were the problem. Like Redlude said, you dont just replace a single tire unless the tread is within 2/32nds of the new one.
